My 6 quirky quirks about Me!

Jeanna, I thought we were more alike but after you revealed your 6 quirks, I realized that we do have differences.

1. Grocery Shopping, I am totally opposite. I have to start on the non foods side of the store and then finish with my produce on top of my cart. I am a freak when it come to grocery shopping. I have to go down every isle in the store and everything is organized in the cart and then when I put my groceries on the conveyor belt, they are all organized there also. My breads together, my toiletries, my dairy, my frozens. Uhm! No wonder I always cause a line to start behind me when I am checking out... I then ask for my most special bagger which bags my groceries just right, carries them out for me, puts them in the car, and then I get that extra icing on the cake. A big ole kiss! I do love to grocery shop. Now don't any of you start asking for my special bagger.

2. I work best under pressure. My house can be totally organized and clean and then if I have a project that has a deadline, I will wait and wait and wait but always have it on my mind and then BAM! I create it but it turns my house into total chaos. My husband has learned to just leave me alone during this time and he knows that it is his turn to cook dinner... I have tried to work on this one.

3. I have got this big quirk with towels. In college, I watched a video that showed how many germs and bacteria live on our towels. That, for one reason or another, has always stuck with me. Needless to say, I can only use a towel once. So you can see why I don't mind if my kids throw there towel on the floor because I will put a batch of towels in the wash everyday. It is a good thing that I do like to wash, fold, and put away towels. which I quess could be a quirk in and of itself...

4. I am petrified of MICE or anything that moves very quickly. There is nothing that freaks me out more than this. I can't even put a picture of the little creature on this post. My children know my week spot and play tricks on me. They have been known to get dryer lint out of the dryer or anything that is furry and throw it at my feet just to watch me scream and jump to get away from it. They laugh and think this is so so funny. If you ever use this information against me, I am not sure what will happen, but don't try to find out.

5. I have this thing with dirty socks left on the floor. Whats worse though, they are stinky boy socks. If my boys want to get a rise out of me, this is one way to get it. I have no idea why they cannot just take them off and put them in the hamper which is not to far away but no, I find them shoved under, in, around, and on the coach. DRIVES ME CRAZY!!!

I know that I have a ton of weird habits but I cannot think of them. I am posting my five and I will update my sixth when it comes to me. Thank Jeanna for the tag. It makes you really stop and think about yourself.

Sweet Sixteen! Happy Birthday Riley

This is why I was afraid to start a blog! I knew one of these times, it would take me forever to update it, and it has! Anyway lots of exciting things!! I have a driver now! It started out on Wednesday, Riley's sixteenth birthday. I can't believe that my first baby turned sixteen. It was just yesterday that I remember bringing him home from the hospital. He was such a joy in our lives and continues to be everyday with his fun personality and his cute smile. He never sieses to amaze me. Wednesday, Graci and I took Riley to lunch and then after everyone had gotten home from school, work, football practice, basketball game, and whatever else we had that night, we had a party! Jeanna, I copied your treasure hunt idea and oh yea, the sixteen kisses. It started out by giving Riley a bouguet of sixteen bubble gum blow suckers which are one of his favorites and that sent him to his room where I had worked all morning on trying to get it clean with fresh sheets and washed clothes, the whole works. What a chore. I also mad him some new plagues for his room. "Whatever you are, Be a good one." Abraham Lincoln, The six B's from Gordon B Hinckley, and then a new one from the Gen. Young Women's Pres. from Gen. Con. "With the Strength of the Lord, I can do hard things." I fixed these up around his room and it looked awesome. On his bed was a box filled with sixteen gatorades which led him to his #1 love, which starts in November. "The Basketball Hoop" and there he found a new pair of basketball shoes which he had ordered but I was so excited that they had came in the mail that day. He was way excited about that. His third clue was that he had to give his Taxi driver sixteen kisses for all of the many ride I have given him, taking him to school, picking him up for lunch, picking up from practice, and where ever else I ran him. This I will truely miss but it will sure free up alot of my time. I had his fourth clue which led him to Torrey's old Ford Taurus which Torrey worked very hard getting all cleaned up and detailed for him and had taken it down to the mechanics and had gotten the heater working for him for this winter. Exciting times! Then we went to dinner with two of his friends, Tanner Johnson and Tippy to Micasita's and then Torrey took all the boys to the Football Movie in Rock Springs. Thursday, Torrey took Riley to Rock Springs to get his Driver's license. He was very nervous because he had to drive with the DMV lady. He said that he was very nervous and shaky but that he only missed one thing and that was leaving his blinker on after merging. He is official!! Way to go Riley! Don't forget to take your Mom out to Lunch every now and then. We love you and can't wait to see what awesome things you accomplish this next year.

Grandpa & Grandma are coming!!! Yeah!Priesthood session of conference

No School on Friday!! Hooray! It started out on Friday by doing my magazines at Smith's. I ran right home to finish my cleaning because Torrey's parents were coming. While I was down on my hands and knees, playing Cinderella, scrubbing around my bar, I received a phone call from my good friend Jeanna. They were headed to the park with burgers from 'Old McDonald's" as Graci refers to it, and wanted to know if we wanted to join them. Heck yes! Anything to get me out of house cleaning. It was a beautiful day and the kids enjoyed themselves as well as I did. When we got back, Grandpa, Grandma and cousin Bailey were there. It was so much fun to have them. Grandma was a good sport and sat through four football games while on her visit to Wyoming. The weekend was filled with yes, football, a rainy trip to Lander and then beautiful weather to watch the game, the best pizza I had tasted in a long time at Tony's pizza, swimming with cousin Bailey, an awesome two days of General Conference and on Monday Morning, the kids all sluffed school and Grandpa and Grandma took us all out to breakfast. What a great way to end an awesome party. Thank You Veldon and Arlene for the fun time. We love having you.
Attatched is a picture of the guys heading off to the Priesthood Session of General Conference Saturday night and an awesome picture of Layton after he played so good on Saturday.

It's 3:30 in the Morning!!! Why can't I sleep?

Camp is over! Why am I not sleeping? While I was planning for Girls Camp this last summer, I would have many sleepless nights. I don't know how many nights I would wake up at 3:00 with an idea that I would have to write down. I quess the Lord speaks best to me at this time. This morning, I have already put in a batch of wash, started my dishwasher, made 8 signs for the craft bazzar that we are planning, which I have posted a few, let me know what you think Jeanna, and now decided to update my Journal. (I don't like the word blog for some reason) If only I could get up at 3:00 every morning, Oh! The things I could accomplish!
Last week was filled with many things. Mostly running the kids to their various activities. Piano, Achievement days, TaVasi, pre school, Football practice, and Football games. The highlight of the week for me was all of that and a date with my husband. We had been looking forward to seeing this newly released movie, "Night in Rodanthe".. We are both Nicholas Sparks fans and had both read the book. It was a good movie, but what I really enjoyed was afterward, we stopped for a walk in the park and had an awesome time just talking. We haven't done that for awhile and it was just what I needed. I am really not a high maintenence wife!
Torrey and the boys went to the Vernal Temple on Saturday and did Baptisms for the Dead. They had a neat experience. They were a bit early and had a little time to spare, so the person in charge of their group stopped to tell them of the symbolism of the many things pertaining to Baptisms for the Dead. They did learn alot and I know they were grateful that they were there.

"I AM A V.I.P. IN MY FAMILY"

This week has been an exciting one. Monday I was able to travel to Evanston with Graci to watch my son, Riley, play Football. He always works hard and does a great job. That Q.B. was on the ground but was able to get the ball off just in the nick of time before Riley laid him right out. Tuesday, I was able to go to Graci's preschool because she was the V.I.P. of the week. It was so much fun. I stayed up till about 2:00a.m. to finish her cute little poster. It has some of her most favorites. Her family being #1. She loves to go fishing and knows that she has to wear her fishing hat. I can't say that it is lucky because Torrey can't seem to catch any with her around but she has to wear it none the less. Graci loves to ride bikes and play with Hannah's kittens. She is also a big Dora the explorer fan. Thank You Graci for taking me to school with you. Hattie broke out in hives all over body and she was itching like crazy. It was something that she had eaten I guess. After two days of that she is back to herself. Layton had gotten a soar in his nose, I know that sounds gross but, it started to migrate to his upper lip and had gotten an abcess under his lip and was pretty swollen. Friday I ran him to the E.R. because you just can't seem to get into any Doctors around here and they gave him an antibiotic and it looks much better today. Oh, the joys of being a mother. I hope this is not a sign of how our winter is going to be. Saturday, I traveled to Utah with one of my good friends, Jeanna Young. We are going to sell items at a craft bazzar in Rock Springs so we shopped all day and had a great time. Thanks Jeanna for the fun day! Now I have to get to work and start making all of the fun things that we bought. I am so tired tonight!

"Each Are Special In There Own Unique Way"

Riley & Layton
What awesome boys you have become. Such fun personalities you have. I love hanging out with my boys. They have taken after their father in the respect that they take such good care of there Mom. Both are very hard working, motivated, very responsible, and very respectful young men. Riley loves Football, Basketball, and playing the piano. He is a Star Scout struggling to recieve those last few Merit Badges to bring him to a Life Scout. Riley is one month away from becoming a licensed driver. WATCH OUT!!! Not really. I have been very impressed with his maturity behind the wheel. I know that I am going to miss driving him everywhere but I am excited for him.
Layton is my football player. He plays the Offensive line, defensive line, and is the kicker. He also enjoys basketball, and Baseball and loves to be with his friends. Layton has the cutest smile and the biggest dimples. Layton is a Board of Review shy of becoming a "Star" Scout. Both boys are very good students. I am very impressed with how they accomplish all that they do. I love you guys!
